Lance Smith
A generation of country music fans might call Lance Smith the “face of CMT”. A Nashville native, Smith spent his early adulthood pursuing an acting career. However, in early 2000 a unique job opportunity on one of the highest grossing music tours in the country showed Lance another side of the entertainment business that ended up being the right fit. As an emcee of the Dixie Chicks’ Fly tour, Lance performed in front of an average of 15,000 people a night, for 92 shows.
Ten years later, with over a thousand shows hosted and hundreds of celebrities interviewed, Lance parted ways with CMT to expand his talents into new venues. After hosting the first season of the Weather Channel’s Weathering Disaster, Lance would eventually find a home in Orlando, Florida as an anchor on the nationally syndicated morning show The Daily Buzz. There, Lance was given the freedom to find his voice in the show’s irreverent bent. He wrote and produced a number of highly praised editorial commentaries and discovered his passion for working behind the camera.
